On Saturday, July 8, 2017, the 1st Tanabata (Vega) Festival is to be held at Ryugenji temple, the Kyoto branch of Kawasaki Daishi Heikenji temple.
From 10:00 am to 5:00 pm, various kinds of activities such as belly dance, classical dances of south and north India, and shinto dance in Osaka style, as well as some music with many instruments by various artists, are going to be performed. In addition, Ogomakuhoyo (large scale Buddhist service making huge fire by burning votive goma boards) is to be conducted. Visitors can join the service by purchasing a goma board and make a wish. Why don't you visit and stop by food vendors at the temple such as takoyaki (octpus dumplings), etc., as well as aroma hand treatments, color therapies, and massages, etc.
