Many of my readers might know a lot about Chikurin no Komichi (竹林の小道, Bamboo forest walkway) at the Arashiyama (嵐山) district. However, I wonder if you know about the shrine in the depth of the forest. It is called Mikami Shrine (御髪神社), the small but very famous as the only shrine in Japan which is said to be responsive to prayers for healthy hair. The shrine is located at the foot of the Ogra (小倉) mountain, near the Arashiyama (嵐山) station of Sagano (嵯峨野) Romantic Train, quitely surrounded by the greenery. The Ogura pond in front of the shrine is also very beautiful.
