What is the most stunning flower in this season? I would say it’s lotus.

I like hydrangeas wet in the rain, but lotus flowers covering the whole surface of the shrine pond are nothing but a magical spectacle. For me it's amazing to know that lotus roots produce such heavenly beautiful flowers while they have grown and formed their buds in a muddy swamp.

Have you ever noticed that shapes of lotus flowers are often engraved on many statues of Buddha. Yes, lotus flower is the symbol of Buddhism. The scenery I saw was like a heaven appeared in this real world.

Boulangerie MASH Kyoto is a bakery located in the community of Hosyo-Yama, one of the floats of GION Festival. To my surprise, I found Chimaki (sweet dumpling wrapped with a bamboo leaf. Said to be apotropaic.) shaped bread! It was so like Kyoto and delicious.
