"A walk to Boost Joshiryoku"
*Joshiryoku: Girl's power. An idea common among Japanese female which values ability of cooking, grooming, sawing, choosing fashion items and/or anything which can imply femininity.
Last month, I took a walk with Beniko, a former Maiko and my current colleague, to boost our Joshiryoku. I admire Beniko very much.
What is essential to polish one’s Joshiryoku?
Yes, you have to see beautiful things.
What are the beautiful things?
You have to see flowers!!
So, we went to Reikanji temple to see camellias which bloom only for a brief period of spring.
The temple has a long and distinguished history and is in connection with Royal Family. The air was so fresh and the temple seemed to be embraced in negative ion.
After being immersed in the beauty of camellia flowers, we went to Kawai shrine located within Shimogamo shrine. Now that I’ve reached a certain age, I dedicated a prayer for my own beauty, like many girls dedicating Kagami-ema (votive wooden hand-mirror shaped plate for beauty).
Women are meant to be aware of Joshiryoku at any age. If you think it’s not your business, well you have to reconsider. To boost Joshiryoku, I would like to recommend to watch beautiful flowers.
