The standard souvenirs of Kyoto are "Shogoin Yatsuhashi(Kyoto sweets)", "Kyobaum(Kyoto baumkuchen)", and Japanese miscellaneous goods. My recommendation is "Ajyarimochi(Japanese sweets)". It is a cake made of glutenous dough stuffed with sweetened bean paste. It is also enjoyable to walk around eating it. Gojo-zaka or Sannen-zaka leading to Kiyomizudera Temple is the best place to enjoy shopping and eat around.
