Nice to meet you, I'm Akiko, a former Maiko Yumeyakata information staff. I started practicing Maiko at the age of 6 and opened a shop at the age of 15 and became a Maiko.
During the Maiko and Geiko eras, I had various experiences such as participating in overseas events as a representative of Kyoto, appearing in Jidai Matsuri, and sometimes appearing in historical drama as an extra.
Now that I'm retired, as an information staff member of Yumeyakata, I'm happy to let everyone who comes to sightseeing guide me to Kyoto.
In the blog, I will introduce the inside story of Maiko, the story unique to Kyoto, the special secret spot, and the story of a rare journey on an overseas business trip.
